Pathways
There are four key post-secondary destinations or "pathways" that students can choose from when making decisions about where they hope their future will lead them after graduation. These four pathways are apprenticeship, college, university, and directly entering the world of work.
Choosing an appropriate pathway is an important decision that all students will face in their high school career. There are many considerations to make - what sort of a career they hope to pursue, what type of training most appeals to them, what type of certification is required to enter their field of interest, how many years of post-secondary training they are prepared to commit to, etc. The most important part of the research process is for students to understand that there is no one best pathway, just a best pathway for them. Because of the vastness of the information available to students, they are encouraged to see Ms. McCann or Mrs. Galay in Student Services to assist them in the research process. Students will also spend considerable time researching post-secondary pathways in their compulsory grade 10 Career Studies course.
