Our first week is over and we are well on our way to action-packed semester of events for all students. We welcome your support, both on the sidelines cheering our Patriots, and, evening information sessions and celebrations. A calendar bookmark was mailed to all homes in the summer highlighting key dates. In addition, I would ask that you keep connected with our school website for details or changes to the events.
Our PEP Crew greeted our incoming Grade 9s Tuesday morning and were instrumental in ensuring our Grade 9s became more familiar with the school, that they are connected with a senior student, and to form new relationships within their peer group.
Student Services has been busy accommodating timetable changes and new registrations. Welcome Back Grade Assemblies highlighted school code of behaviour and academic expectations for success.
Support Staff to Pearson this year were introduced and include Laura Clement, Social Worker, and Constable Andrew Garst, Community Liaison Officer from Halton Regional Police. We do continue to hire for a couple of sections and I look forward to updating you about our staff in my next message.
Student Engagement Fee:
Please consider contributing $35.00 for this fee to offset the cost of many grade and school wide events occurring throughout the year. This fee has already contributed to the training senior students for our PEP crew as well as the welcoming activities and lunch for our Grade 9s. Future events include continued Grade 9 Transition, Grad Breakfast, High Level Competitions: OFSAA, Sears Drama, Tech Olympics, Student Excellence and Commencement, Pearson Revue (Year End Student Awards Show), school wide events hosted by Student Parliament, as well as clubs and councils.
This can be paid at cashlessschools.com
